January 2021 Update: Login Upgrades, Better Emails and more
The second half of 2020 brought quite a few changes to the par8o experience. With new ways to access your account and less inbox clutter, your par8o experience is even better!
More Meaning, Less Clutter: par8o Email Changes, New Homepage Notifications
- Emails sent from par8o should be actionable and this change helps remove some of the inbox clutter! Back in June, we made a change to referral email notifications for new staff. By default, newly created par8o accounts will not receive referral notifications, and instead can be customized by each staff member. The par8o homepage will show a notification when email notifications are turned off.
- Many clients use Single Sign On (SSO) to enable staff to log in to par8o securely and easily. This means that staff use their normal company credentials to log into par8o instead of having a separate username and password. While SSO is not a new function for par8o, in August, we updated the password reset workflow. Today, when a reset password email is triggered, a new and improved email is sent that will allow the person to click the email and log right into par8o via SSO.
- We’ve updated our patient texting integration! The texts sent to patients from offices regarding referral status updates and/or appointment reminders have always been automated, however, patients would sometimes respond to these automated messages with requests and messages that were not understood by the texting system. In December, we released an update that calls attention to the patient's text message response in the Referral History. There is a new notification on your homepage feed under the heading "Out of Context Patient SMS Response Received".Clicking the notification brings you directly to the details of the patient’s response. Then, you can handle the message accordingly.
Security Updates to Maintain Industry Best Practices
- In October, we made an update that makes par8o more secure. Staff who have par8o passwords will now be locked out of their account after 4 incorrect attempts; this matches par8o’s information security policies.
- End user license agreements (EULA), sometimes called “terms of use” help users understand what’s allowable and what happens to the data in our system. In the past, par8o’s EULA stated that using par8o’s platform implied acceptance of our terms and conditions. By recommendation of our Chief Information Security Officer, we have updated our EULA. Today, all staff must manually accept the agreement by way of clicking a button before accessing par8o. Staff will need to re-accept whenever the EULA changes (which we’d only do for really good reason!). This functionality is in line with industry security standards for SaaS platforms and is required across all clients.
Office Grouping for Better Reporting and Faster Account Provisioning
- As of November, offices can be grouped together in par8o. par8o Client Admins can create, edit, view, and delete office groups directly from the new Office Groups page. Office groupings can be named as you wish. For example, you might call an office group “Sites”.
- Client Admins can provision staff or assign office admin privileges to all of the offices within a group by simply applying that office grouping to a par8o account.
- Groups are also accessible in the data warehouse, which means clients with enterprise analytics tools that are integrated with our data warehouse can include groups in custom reports.
- This new functionality is an optional configuration. If this ability is something that sounds like it’d be helpful, please discuss with your office manager or par8o project lead.
