How to Complete Referrals in 'Follow Up' Status

Once an appointment has been scheduled in par8o by using Contact/Schedule - and the entered appointment date and time passes - the next referral lifecycle status is Follow Up

The purpose of Follow Up is to enable the receiving office to report whether or not the patient attended the appointment, and to attach resulting clinical notes. Referral staff at the sending clinic can also enter the appointment outcome.  

Please note that this status is optional for each organization. If you do not have Follow Up enabled, the status after Scheduled is Complete.

How It Works

  1. par8o automatically triggers the Follow Up state after the appointment time and date passes.
  2. The referral status changes from Scheduled to Follow Up.
  3. par8o moves the referral back to your Requires Review tab.
  4. Report the appointment outcome: Click Select Action and select Log Appt Outcome.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts. 
  6. If the appointment occurred, attach any EMR notes.
  7. Click Save. The receiving office can now access the appointment outcome and notes directly on the par8o referral!
